Spotted a typo, an old date or the wrong name in a PDF? With Modocca you can click on existing text and type over it, without needing the original Word file. Upload your PDF above and it opens in the editor straight away.
Besides changing existing words, you can add new text boxes, highlight passages, draw, insert images and place a signature. Replaced text is redrawn in the closest matching standard font, so short edits blend in with the rest of the page. You can undo and redo every change before you export.
This is ideal for fixing details in letters, forms, quotes, CVs and agreements. It works for PDFs that contain real text; scanned images of pages can still be annotated with new text on top.
Keep a copy of the original and review every changed line before sharing. A longer replacement may not fit the existing space, so use concise wording and check neighbouring text. For scans, placing text over an image does not turn it into selectable text or remove the words underneath; avoid using visual edits to redact sensitive information.
Editing is free with no signup. To download, create a free account — your first 2 downloads are on us. Your files are stored privately, only you can open them, and they are deleted automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the existing text in my PDF?
Yes, if the PDF contains selectable text. Click the text in edit mode and type your replacement. Scanned pages can't be retyped, but you can add new text over them.
Will the font match?
Modocca redraws edited text in the closest standard font and size. For short changes it usually blends in well; very decorative fonts may look slightly different.
Do I need to sign up to edit?
No. Editing is free without an account. You only need a free account to download the result.
Can I add a signature?
Yes. You can draw a signature in the editor and place it anywhere on the page.
